I live in Charleston South Carolina but travel frequently. I enjoy scuba diving, exercising, hiking, and learning more about health, aging, philosophy, business, history, and our beautiful natural world.
My Dad was in the Navy, so we moved around a lot when I was young, living on both US coasts and Panama. Exposure to many cultures at a young age improved my perspective on human nature.
I started by career with a stent in the US Air Force after being drafted for the Viet Nam war. I lucked out and didn’t have to go to Nam. Then, pursued a career as an electronics technician working on Navy submarines and surface ships. Eventually, I self-taught myself to become a network engineer and finished out my career.
Near the end of my career, I became a scuba instructor. This really opened my eyes to new possibilities including some great dive travel around the Caribbean and South Pacific.
As my engineering career was winding down, I realized the economy had changed and I no longer had enough saved for a comfortable retirement. After reading a lot of books on wealth building and business, I decided rental property was the way to go. Not only has real estate investing worked out pretty good, but I realized I really enjoy working with business processes and financial management.
